About Violets Print House
Illustrated prints designed to bring warmth, colour, and character into everyday spaces.
A creative studio rooted in colour, texture, and storytelling
Hi, I’m Sabrina — the founder and illustrator behind Violet’s Print House.
I’ve always been drawn to art and drawing from a young age, but I went on to study Fashion Design, where my love of colour, composition, and print really developed. During my studies, I was fortunate enough to take internships at a range of inspiring fashion houses including Erdem, Alexander McQueen, Giles Deacon, and even explored millinery with Noel Stewart. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, detail, and storytelling through design.
After graduating, I worked across both luxury and high street fashion brands, designing womenswear and prints. It was an exciting and fast-paced time creatively, and it shaped the way I think about pattern, texture, and visual balance.
A shift towards a slower, more personal creative practice
Everything changed when I went on maternity leave.
I started painting again — initially just for myself — and slowly began exploring creative ideas outside of the fashion industry. That’s when Violet’s Print House began, originally as an Etsy shop, as a way to share my work while balancing life at home with my children.
I made the decision not to return to the fashion industry, and instead to build something that allowed me to be more present with my family, while continuing to do something I love every day.
How the work has evolved
My creative process always starts with paint — I love the texture, depth, and unpredictability you get from working by hand. From there, I often build digital compositions using my painted elements, which has naturally evolved into a mix of illustrated still life, expressive colour studies, and decorative prints.
I’m inspired by so many things around me — colourful landscapes, vintage fashion, interior styling, set design, and everyday objects that can be reimagined in a new way. There’s also a strong influence of vintage and retro aesthetics in my work, which I often weave into compositions through colour palettes and styling.
A small studio with a growing story
I work from my home garden studio (and often the kitchen table in between everything else), balancing creative work with family life and raising my two children. What started as a small Etsy shop has grown into something much bigger than I ever expected.
Violet’s Print House is now stocked on Not On The High Street, my own website, and through licensing partnerships with larger retailers, as well as independent shops and maker markets across Brighton and London.
I’m currently continuing to grow the brand, with a focus on expanding wholesale and one day exhibiting at trade shows to reach even more stockists and interior spaces.
Thank you for being here
Every print is created with care, and I hope each piece brings colour, warmth, and personality into your home.
Thank you so much for supporting a small creative studio — it truly means a lot.
